Off-road Collective

Performance of El Otro Lado, one of the first shows by the collective the 7th of October 2022. The show is taking place outside at an event on Oranienplatz in Berlin to pay tribute to the refugees in Berlin. It was a celebration of 10 years of the refugee resistance movement which occupied Oranienplatz, and therefore the collective created a piece to illuminate and to inform about different stages, complexities and experiences refugees may have been through, when moving to another country.

The Off-road collective is an experimental contemporary dance collective of international emerging dancers, choreographers and artist based in Berlin. 

The collective was founded by the desire to build a community, and a safe space for multifaceted artists to collaborate, perform, research and most importantly share ideas with each other and the public. 

We aim for our work to be accessible to a wide range of audience. Through art we invite you to share our vision, to see the world through our eyes, if only for a moment. 

We value vulnerability, openness and sharing with the community. Therefore we make our platforms, events and performances an inclusive, diverse and comfortable space for all. 

Our previous and upcoming work covers a wide range of concepts ranging from political, social and philosophical commentary and activism, to personal introspection, to aesthetic or abstract work and everything in between. We discuss our subjects by the mediums of movement, sound and colour, in theatres or in public spaces. 

We take inspiration from our lived experiences, our surroundings or simply delve into our imaginary. Through the power of movement and the vulnerability of bodies in space, we seek to give the public an insight into how our world transforms and molds itself. 

We have and will continue to work with artists from different backgrounds such as other performing arts, visual arts or any other medium of expression and communication. Collaboration and inspiration from others is at the heart of our process.
